Update: I’m Not Dead…Yet and Sucky Dog Pictures

Hi all.

So my GF pointed out that I hadn’t posted to this blog in awhile and she was right. So I thought I’d share some pictures of Dexter and throw up an update.

I’ve been busy building my YouTube channel. I’ve been growing steadily and hopefully getting better at making videos. I did my first live stream on Sunday as well with someone from Australia.

That felt really cool to do. I mean, there I was in my living-room having a chat with someone in Australia who shared a lot of the same interests as me, and I was able to interact in real time with his subscribers and mine.

My phone exploded (metaphorically not literally) and it cost me several hundred dollars to get a new one. That was an extremely frustrating process that ended in me getting beat down by my phone company.

I don’t really want to relive it. Still makes me angry inside. *smiles*

Dexter and family are doing well. I got my yearly performance review back at work, and it was a really good one. So I’m hoping that translates into a raise.

Fingers crossed.

And I’m getting back into the gym after being lazy since I broke my toe. That’s been going well and I continue to make strides towards getting back into the shape I was in before Toe-Gate.

Can I use ‘Gate’ to describe a breaking of a toe? It seems as though everyone else does it whenever something happens that turns their world upside down.

So yeah. I’m still breathing even if the world seems to have gone mad and I hope you all are doing well also!

New YouTube Avatar!

I just wanted to show off my new avatar that I’ll be using in my YouTube videos. A creator on YouTube made them for me out of the kindness of his heart. I just love them!

His at rest stance.

Close to facepalm stance?

Anyhow, there will likely be more in the future but I can’t get over how nice they are. At least in my opinion.

Do you like them?

Happy New Year – An Injury To Dexter and Is Arguing Online Worth It?

I hope everyone had a great New Year! My holidays are wrapping up and I go back to work tomorrow.

Bleh, bleh, blaaaaah!

No seriously, it’s not that bad. Sure, it will feel strange but I miss my clients and I’m looking forward to seeing them tomorrow.

My New Year was pretty uneventful. We planned on going out but I came down with a bit of a cold so we had to cancel. Instead we had a nice evening at home in front of the fireplace while sipping some wine.

One bad thing happened though…Dexter broke a tooth. My Lady noticed it when scratching his belly and told me that he had a black spot on the tooth beside his canine.

He gets his teeth brushed and at first I thought it must be a piece of food or something, but when I checked it out it turns out she was right.

Yes…she was right. I admit it.

A trip to the vet revealed he had broken his tooth – likely while chewing his antler.

A root canal would be in the vicinity of two to three thousand dollars. To have it removed is a thousand, but February is National dog dental month or something so my vet says he can get me 50% off.

Dexter is scheduled for tooth extraction in mid-February.

Dexter and Duke about to destroy a fort

Not that great in that department. Since Dexter is allergic to most foods, I had no alternative but to get him a Nylabone to chew.

If you have a strong chewer of a dog, perhaps stay away from the antler. I wouldn’t want to see them break their tooth.

I just finished a video about whether arguing online is worth it. I hope you’ll give it a watch and let me know how your New Years went.

Christmas Lights!

Oh how I love Christmas lights. Last night I took a client to see the lights in one of our local parks.

It was a nice night; not too cold and enough snow to make it look festive without making it hard to walk the paths.

So here are a few pictures.

The first lit tree we encountered.

I actually liked the lights on the building behind the trees.

Lampposts weren’t immune to the Christmas spirit.

Santa’s house.

They did a great job decorating inside Santa’s house.

To be honest, the Santa seemed bored and not very jolly. In his defense, we arrived at the tail end of his shift so that might have something to do with it.

After work, Dexter and I decided to take a rest on the couch together.

In all honesty, I was trying to read but he was having none of it. He decided it was time to pet him. Reading could wait.

I agreed completely.

How To Hide and Snuggle

Just wanted to post a few pictures of Hide n’ Go Snuggle. It’s a game our dogs seem fairly good at.

Duke loves to burrow in blankets and make a little fort.

Dexter more likes to be found and snuggled, especially if you’ve been gone awhile without his consent.

They both love to sleep.

It’s a hard dog life.

This Week In Share Your World

Alrighty, it’s time for this week in Share Your World.

Does it make me weird that I hear a game show host speaking when I read the first sentence in my head?

This week I’m going to answer the questions and after each one, share a picture that my wonderful Lady took of Dexter.

Whatever. Let’s get into it.

What do you value most in a friendship?

I’d say integrity. I don’t want to find out that they’re talking about me behind my back or that they’re using me in some way.

Do you prefer eating the frosting of the cake or the cupcake first?  Do you prefer a specific flavor?

I usually rip half the cake part off and eat the icing covered half. I usually throw the bottom of muffins away also.

Have you ever been in a submarine?  If you haven’t, would you want to?

I have! I was inside the HMCS Ojibwa. It was super cool to see how those people used to live when on active duty. The history is fascinating.

If 100 people your age were chosen at random, how many do you think you’d find leading a more satisfying life than yours?

Not sure. It would be hard to measure such a thing. But for arguments sake, I’ll go with 35%. I happen to like my life at the moment, but I’m no expert on such things.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Last week I went to the Christmas Village event and had a good time. I shared many laughs with my client.

I’m looking forward to finishing off my Xmas shopping for the year this week.

Baby Dogs

Here are a few pictures we took throughout the week. I hope you enjoy them and have a great weekend.

Little Duke making the great escape with Dexter’s antler, which is nearly as big as he is.

Another angle of the antler. It’s hilarious watching him carry it around.

Dexter sitting on me. I guess I wasn’t paying enough attention to his Highness.

He’s my cutey.

There you have it. I have some interesting (at least I think they’re interesting) topics in mind for next week.
